Cora Hughes AKA Tiger (they/she)
is a professional contemporary dancer, choreographer, teacher, event organiser, producer and visual artist. Trained in contemporary dance at the Victorian College of the Arts, Cora has performed with Lucy Guerin Inc. in Newretro at ACCA, and the Sydney Opera House, with Helen Herbertson Projects in Melbourne, Australia and Cork, Ireland. With Yumi Umiumare in ButohOut! Gabriella Imichova, and Amelia O’Leary in the Midsumma Festival.
Cora is the founder and director of two community projects, DykesDip and Heaven, alongside Emily Eather. Through these two initiatives and her individual practice she has produced events, curated visual art and dance at galleries and presented artwork at venues such as SubClub, Miscellania, Temperance Hall, Cyrus Art Lounge and Milneys Bar. As a visual artist she has exhibited works from small sculptural pieces to interactive textile installations in clubs and DIY spaces.
